Job Summary

Join our team at Logistics Park Dubuque, a Travero company, in East Dubuque, IL, as our next Operations Manager! In this exhilarating role, you’ll lead operations in a fast-paced, multi-modal transportation and logistics environment while maintaining our impressive safety record. What you will do

+ Interact regularly with customer regarding barge, rail, and truck scheduling and prioritization. Ensure all customer interactions with others are handled promptly and efficiently, including resolving customer concerns and complaints.

+ Interview, hire, and reward talented employees

+ Partner with employees to set clear goals and expectations.

+ Provide timely and specific feedback on workplace performance and develop improvement plans to address performance gaps.

+ Ensure employees report to work fit for duty.

+ Maintain solid working relationships with union leadership while making strategic recommendations to increase productivity, quality, and customer service levels.

+ Oversee the maintenance of material handling and plant mechanical equipment to keep it in safe, efficient, and economical working condition.

+ Manage the replacement of mechanical and/or electrical equipment and associated structures.

+ Maintain plant operating and maintenance records and performance reports.

+ Oversee the safe planning, coordination, compliance and management of operations activities at LPD, including resources and material involved with customer projects, routine maintenance, and emergency work.

+ Demonstrate leadership in the area of safety, including observing and enforcing safety rules and defined operating practices

+ Assist in accident investigations, and promptly correct unsafe conditions and unsafe work behaviors which may lead to accidents. 0%Take charge as a decision-maker during emergency situations involving facilities, people, and property.

+ Understand and enforce rules set by regulatory bodies, e.g, Department of Labor (DOT), Occupational Safety and Safety Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

+ Engage in other duties as needed that support Travero’s Values.

Required Experience

+ 5 years of experience in field operations, project management, or related work.

+ 3 years supervisory experience or equivalent. (Equivalent supervisory experiences may include project management, providing work direction, leadership experience through temporary assignments, roles in the community or external organizations, or other demonstrated leadership experience).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

+ Demonstrates effective leadership skills.

+ Demonstrated experience working with labor union management preferred.

+ Knowledge of OSHA safety rules and DOT regulations preferred.

+ Demonstrated ability to read and understand equipment manuals and schematics.

+ Demonstrated financial skills such as budgeting and basic accounting.

+ Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

+ Demonstrated understanding of information technology applications. Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management).
