Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Title Officer/Underwriter, familiar with title searches, examination and curative. Candidates will work independently and use experience to examine title to real property, ranging in complexity, to determine status and establish chain of title. Candidates should be prepared to work in a paperless environment.

*This position can be in-person or remote.

Primary Responsibilities:

Communicating with Attorneys in regards to clearing title requirements in a manner that protects the company as well as ensures the closing is completed smoothly.

+ Works to resolve title issues to prepare for closing.

+ Familiarity with title insurance practices, real estate law and Illinois Land Title Association guidelines relating to the issuance of preliminary reports and title insurance policies.

+ Background with title insurance products and the types of coverage included in such products.

+ Excellent interpersonal skills as well as written and verbal communication skills.

+ Perform under extreme time constraints.

Requirements:

+ Experience in a fast-paced, high volume title operation.

+ Minimum of five years related experience in title insurance.

+ Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal

+ Excellent and highly disciplined organizational, time-management, and follow-up skills are required

+ Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast paced environment

+ Analytical review skills

+ Research skills

+ Strong problem solving skills

+ Communication skills, both verbal and written

+ Customer service orientation

+ Standard MS skill set

+ Proficient with company operating systems

+ Knowledge of legal terms helpful
