The Opportunity

Hyatt seeks a visionary Director of Data and AI Governance to champion our data and artificial intelligence (AI) governance initiatives. In this critical role, you will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive data governance program that fosters trust, transparency, and accountability in our use of data and AI.

The Role

· Develop and implement a robust data governance framework, including data policies, standards, and procedures.

· Lead the development and execution of a data quality management strategy.

· Establish and maintain a data governance committee to ensure stakeholder alignment and program effectiveness.

· Collaborate with IT, business units, cyber security, legal, data and data science teams to champion data governance across the enterprise.

· Oversee data classification, access control, and data security practices.

· Develop and implement a comprehensive AI governance strategy, ensuring ethical and responsible use of AI.

· Monitor and report on data governance metrics and program performance.

· Stay abreast of industry best practices and regulatory requirements concerning data and AI governance.

Qualifications:

Experience Required:

· Proven experience (8 years) in data governance, data management, or a related field.

· Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and methodologies.

· Experience in developing and implementing data policies, standards, and procedures.

· Experience in data quality management practices.

· Proven ability to build, lead, and motivate a high-performing data governance team.

· Experience in fostering a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.

· Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills to effectively manage stakeholders across all levels of the organization.

· Strong ability to delegate tasks and hold team members accountable.

· Demonstrated leadership skills to champion data governance initiatives and drive program adoption.

· Experience with data governance tools and technologies a plus.

· Understanding of AI governance principles and best practices preferred.
