Entry Level Machinist Trainee

Peoria, IL/ $18- $22hr/Full time

Aerotek is now hiring for a machinist trainee to learn the manual machining trade while assisting with preparing parts for machining process and handling inventory for the department. Interested in a career in manufacturing? Apply today!

Description:

+ Learn to operate manual machines including lathes, mills, grinders, and press brakes

+ Read and interpret fabrication blueprints and drawings

+ Use gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements

+ Perform routine maintenance on machine tools and equipment daily

+ Assist team by kitting and organizing parts needed for processes

+ Receive incoming materials for machining processes

+ Operate forklift

+ Utilize computers including ERP systems to track ERP

+ Prep stainless steel materials

+ Coordinate with engineering department and production team lead

+ Follow all safety rules and regulations

Qualifications:

+ Interest in earning machining trade

+ Ability to operate forklifts

+ Ability to use computers

+ Experience working with machines preferred

+ High attention to detail

+ High School Diploma or GED

+ Experience with Microsoft Office Programs
