At United, we are looking for an exceptional individual to join our team as the Director of Procurement for Airframe Maintenance. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a world-class airline that is on a mission to become the best in the industry. This role will provide strategic and operational oversight for a comprehensive, best-in-class Airframe Maintenance purchasing and strategy including financial risk mitigating strategies to achieve lower long-term expense relative to industry peers and coordinates efficient sourcing for all of Airframe Maintenance part and components.

Leading all aspects of a multi-billion dollar annual spend via global Airframe Maintenance sourcing and procurement, you will manage multi-modal logistics and inventory along the tech ops supply chain, ensuring balanced access to off-airport and on-airport infrastructure and services.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Develop and implement Airframe Maintenance Procurement strategies to optimize procurement performance and capture total cost of ownership reductions.

+ Support the Airframe Maintenance strategy, performance, and development by adapting insights generated by the Center of Excellence.

+ Lead governance activities, meetings, and develop strong working relationships with business unit leaders to drive procurement strategies that lower cost and risk.

+ Support strategic and transactional purchasing teams by guiding them through RFx processes and applying sourcing standard methodologies.

+ Track and evaluate team performance, attract and retain talent, and ensure operationalization of negotiated contracts.

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

+ Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred.

+ 7+ years of relevant experience with at least 3+ years of management experience in sourcing roles.

+ Successful track record in procurement, ideally within Airframe Maintenance.

+ Strong understanding of the category industry, processes, and products.

+ Experience in understanding, managing, and communicating large data sets.

+ Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

+ Strong organizational and change-management skills.

+ Extensive negotiation skills.

+ Strong proficiency in written and executive communication.

+ Strong interpersonal skills, including leadership experience for geographically separated teams.
