As our Clinical Coding Manager, you will serve as an expert on coding, DRG down code audits & denials, and denials process management. To thrive in this role, you will support client hospitals where claims were denied or underpaid by governmental contractors, third party auditors, or other payers. The Manager will oversee the clinical coding & coding appeals staff, strategically manage the appeals inventory & workflow, and continuously refine efficiencies through process improvement. The Manager is responsible for ensuring client satisfaction and department goals are met and maintained.

Here’s what you will experience working as a Clinical Coding Manager:

+ Serve as a leader and mentor to Supervisors, Team Leads and Reviewers.

+ Collaborate with clinical and coding leadership to develop process improvements.

+ Oversight of daily work assignmentsto ensure appeal deadlines are met.

+ Provide ongoing training and development.

+ Ensure client satisfaction with the quality of appeals work and response times.

+ Assist in the preparation of client feedback and onboarding.

+ Maintain and monitor all department KPIs including, but not limited to quality of work, production measures, QA, turnaround times, and success rate.

+ Successfully work with recovery leadership and ops support to escalate trends, challenges, and process improvement opportunities.

+ Demonstrate the ability to work in collaboration with internal stakeholders and clients.

Required Skills:

+ CCS, CIC, and/or CPC certification with 3 to 5 years’ management experience preferred

+ In lieu of current coding certification, 3-5 years of CDI experience is required

+ RN,Bachelor of Science, BSN

+ Direct experience in medical record reviews/audits

+ Knowledge of medical coding for inpatient and outpatient claims (CPT, ICD-9/10, HCPCS) and reimbursement guidelines (MS & APR DRG, APC)

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $63,140.06 – $143,517.00 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
