The Proposal Manager State leads our proposal development efforts in serving states, districts, and schools in the K-12 sector with an emphasis on state-level proposal development. This person will lead all aspects of the end-to-end proposal process, ensuring high-quality and driven proposals that align with our company’s mission and goals. This role requires a deep understanding of the K-12 industry, outstanding project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. The State Proposal Manager will report to the Sr. Proposal Manager.

The Proposal Manager State will:

Proposal Strategy and Development

+ Lead all aspects of the proposal development process to build high quality responses to RFC’s from states, districts, and schools.

+ Understand the complexities of large district and state RFPs, adjusting processes to scale and support proposal development efforts accordingly.

+ Build proposal responses that are compliant, compelling, and in alignment with company standards of excellence.

+ Develop and implement proposal processes that align with APMP standard methodologies.

+ Write, edit, and review proposal content that reflects win themes and sales strategies.

Project Management

+ Run cross-functional proposal teams, ensuring all collaborators are aligned and deadlines are met.

+ Coordinate the collection of information from various departments, including sales, marketing, product development, and customer support.

+ Capable of leading multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, prioritizing work and adjusting to changes quickly and efficiently.

+ Handle large-scale projects involving many contributors across the organization toward a common purpose and goal.

Content Management

+ Contribute to and assist in the management of content library, adhering to consistent use of templates, boilerplate text, and case studies.

+ Ensure all proposal materials are current, accurate, and tailored to the specific needs of each opportunity.

+ Implement standard processes for content management to streamline the proposal development process.

Process Improvement

+ Stay current with industry trends and standard methodologies in proposal management.

+ Implement new tools and technologies to improve the proposal development process.

Required Experience:

+ Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in proposal management, with a focus on the K-12 state-level education sector.

+ Consistent track record of leading successful proposal efforts for large-scale RFPs from states, districts, and schools.

+ Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

+ Strong project management abilities, including the ability to prioritize tasks, run multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

+ Deep understanding of the K-12 education landscape, including education standards, funding mechanisms, and procurement processes.

+ Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

+ APMP Certification preferred.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with proposal management software (e.g., Responsive, Loopio) is helpful.

Salary Range: The base range for this position is $99,500-$136,800. This range is based on national market data and may vary by experience and location.
