Purpose and Scope:

The Market Access Lead is a core member of a dedicated Integrated Product Team. The Market Access Lead serves as the primary interface between the integrated product team and the Market Access Organization, leading market access prioritization and investment in brand decisions and fostering brand strategy within Market Access teams. This role is accountable for the development of, and execution of, market access strategies that ensure optimal coverage, reimbursement, and utilization of the company’s products, ultimately driving patient access and commercial success.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

+ Accountable for development and execution of strategic Market Access plans for assigned priority product as a core member of the Integrated Product Team.

+ Serve as the integrated product team’s primary point of contact for Market Access, and strategic partner for Market Access stakeholders, to ensure optimal market access and reimbursement for the assigned brand.

+ Collaborate cross-functionally as part of the Integrated Product Team and in close partnership with and across Market Access functions and key stakeholders on market access strategies and tactics.

+ Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive value dossiers, health economic models, and other market access tools to support product launches and lifecycle management.

+ Analyze market trends, payer dynamics, and market/field/competitive intelligence to identify opportunities and risk and inform the development and evolution of Market Access strategies (e.g., representing payers, providers, other channel stakeholders, and government agencies’ influence on market access).

+ Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior leadership on market access-related decisions, including pricing, contracting, and patient support programs.

+ Inform and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of market access initiatives and drive continuous improvement.

+ Collaborate with Market Access stakeholders on execution of strategies and tactics to fulfill strategic vision and to collect feedback insights into future brand decisions and/or to adjust strategies and tactics as needed.

+ Support Global Market Access needs for the assigned priority product, including but not limited to Global Co-Creation meetings, Global Value Team (GVT) inputs and collaboration.

+ Stay abreast of evolving market access regulations, policies, and best practices, and ensure the organization’s market access strategies and processes remain compliant and adaptable.

+ Demonstrate a future-focused, outcome-focused, enterprise-wide mindset.

+ Act with a sense of urgency while empowering the Integrated Product Team to pursue bold, innovative ideas that drive meaningful value for our customers.

Qualifications Required:

+ 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical industry with several years in market access, payer relations, or health economics and outcomes research or working cross functionally with these teams.

+ Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

+ Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including ability to debate options with solution orientation and to bridge gaps in understanding.

+ Deep understanding of the payer landscape, reimbursement policies, and market access trends.

+ Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, including giving credit and knowing limits of one’s own knowledge and when to bring in a technical expert.

+ Ability to work in agile manner, take accountability, make clear decisions, being a self-starter.

Preferred:

+ Advanced degree in a relevant field such as Pharmacy, Health Economics, Public Health, or Business Administration.

+ Experience in developing and executing strategic market access plans for pharmaceutical/biotech products.

+ Expertise in creating value dossiers, health economic models, and other market access tools.

+ Experience negotiating with external stakeholders, such as payers, GPOs, and health systems.

+ Familiarity with relevant market access regulations, policies, and best practices.
