Job Description

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Welding Technician. The rate for this position is $21.40 per hour plus a $.40 per hour shift differential. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 3:30 pm – 12;00 am. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do:

+ Ability to read blueprints and shop orders. Responsible for safety, quality, production quotas, and all documentation associated with product movement and confirmations.

+ Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead position.

+ Set-up and troubleshoot welding equipment.

+ Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using MIG welding process.

+ Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.

+ Layout, position, align and secure parts using straightedges, combination squares, calipers and rulers.

+ Weld separately or in combination using aluminum, stainless steel and other alloys.

+ Mark or tag material with proper identification as required

+ Remove excess weld, slag, spatter and rough spots from workpieces using grinders, had files or scrapers

+ Position and secure workpieces using hoists, cranes, wire and banding machines or hand tools

+ Fill holes and increase the size of metal parts

+ Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, and work orders to plan layout, assembly and welding operations

Qualifications:

+ Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future

+ No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Pinckneyville, IL will be considered. (Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation).

+ Manufacturing Experience

+ Proficiency with tape measuring equipment
