Job Description
DescriptionThe Social Sciences Division at the University of Chicago invites applications for a one-year, non-renewable appointment as a part-time lecturer in the Department of History, beginning on or after September 1, 2024. Responsibilities include a) teaching four classes across our three-quarter academic year, including serving as a preceptor for the BA thesis seminar sequence (three courses) and offering a section of the Department's historiography methods course (one course).
This position will be part of the SEIU bargaining unit.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a PhD in History, or in a closely related field. Prior teaching and advising experience is required, with previous experience supporting independent student research preferred.
