You will manage the continuous improvement of our end-to-end proactive category maintenance process. This process contributes to helping determine which products we sell, how we organize these products to show their value, and which information we need to help customers choose. You will engage with all aspects of this revenue driving business process at Grainger, governing our main information flows and handoffs. The Sr. Analyst will partner within Product Information teams and Merchandising, Supplier Management, Publishing, Supply Chain, Pricing & Compliance teams for discovery and change management activities. You will achieve operational efficiency and speed-to-market while establishing relevant analytics guiding the desired process outcomes. Your work will affect processes involving 100+ team members and reviewing products with sales valued at >$1B annually.
Using process development and continuous improvement best practices and methodologies, you will ensure our process changes are guided by clear understanding of our operation, focusing on improving outcomes.
You will report to the Manager, PI Business Process.

You Will:
Develop action plans for process improvements of Product Information's end-to-end involvement in the proactive category review process including technologies, hand-offs, customer outcomes, and inputs from PI Process Managers and PI leadership
Create communications for partners to explain current state and continuous improvement activities
Understand and support the Category Review and work management metrics that connect the work we do to desired outcomes
Identify opportunities to reduce PI errors through root cause discovery, clear metrics and lean-style "poka yoke" process build
Document processes, project plans and process improvements with consistency
Help ensure high quality of product information deliverables to the business
Collaboration with Merchandising, Supplier Management, Supply Chain, GTG (Grainger Technology Group) and other team
You Have:
Bachelor's Degree in business analysis, business administration or related field, or equivalent experience

3+ years of experience across process optimization including process assessment, process build and process change management
Experience with communication strategy and ability to create clear PowerPoint and document-based stories
Business-to-business distribution or manufacturing experience preferred
Technology experience in Product Information Management and other Product Content related systems
Background in business process discovery
Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office functionality, especially Excel (Macros, VBA, Pivot Tables, Lookups), Visio and PowerPoint
Broad business knowledge and an understanding of business operational drivers
Ability to work with senior team members
Meeting management and project management skills
