Your Job
Molex is seeking a world class, self-directed Technology Leader to develop advanced FEA modeling techniques for glass fiber reinforced LCP materials used in high-speed datacom interconnect products, and to develop next generation high-speed interconnect product. This role requires in-depth characterization of LCP materials, as well as simulating the mechanical characteristics of LCP materials using commercially available FEA tools.

What You Will Do
Characterize the glass fiber reinforced LCP materials from mechanical perspective, develop FEA modeling techniques to simulate the stress-strain characteristics of LCP accurately.
Oversee the structural analysis for mechanical solutions of Data Center products, including connectors and cables to ensure optimal mechanical reliability and performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, electrical/signal integrity engineers and manufacturing engineers to define system-level mechanical solutions for Data Center products.
Develop and oversee mechanical testing methodologies and procedures, conduct tests, analyze test data and optimize mechanical designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.
Stay updated on emerging technologies in Mechanical Engineering for Data Center products, drive research in areas including interference fit, thermal aging and anisotropic material modeling.
Collaborate with vendors and customers to ensure seamless integration of Mechanical solutions, effectively communicate complex Mechanical concepts to cross-functional teams and business unit leaders.
Identify potential Mechanical design risks and challenges early in the development phase through FEA simulations, provide guidance on mechanical related issues throughout the product lifecycle.
Publish technical papers and patents.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
B.S. Degree in Mechanical/Material or Related Engineering Discipline, with a focus on plastic material characterization
5+ years of Mechanical/Material Engineering Experience.
5+ years of ABAQUS FEA Simulation Software Experience.
2+ years of experience in CAD software and product design, such as NX.
Experienced in mechanical testing for validation of simulation purposes.
Experience in composite glass fiber reinforcement plastic material modeling.
Experience with glass fiber mapping tools, such as DigiMat and Converse.
Experience with injection molding tool, such as MoldFlow and Moldex.

What Will Put You Ahead
M.S. or Ph.D. Degree in Mechanical/Material Engineering or Related Engineering Discipline.
Established records of invention such as patent ownership or technical paper authorship.
