Job Description

JLL is seeking a Healthcare Compliance Specialist to join our client account team in Chicago. This position requires direct and relevant experience in the healthcare regulatory compliance environment. including knowledge of and experience in The Joint Commission Environment of Care Standards, CMS Conditions of Participation, Illinois Department of Public Health regulations, NFPA, and City of Chicago code. This position is an on-site role co-located with our client in the Illinois Medical District.

In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the quality control program that inspects, validates, and documents compliance requirements identified in The Joint Commission Environment of Care Standards, CMS Conditions of Participation, Illinois Department of Public Health regulations, and any other authorities having jurisdiction over the client portfolio. Reporting to the Compliance Manager as a member of the account compliance team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the account team Compliance Specialist for healthcare facilities accreditation, an understanding of The Joint Commission Environment of Care standards and CMS Conditions of Participation.
Works closely with compliance rounding team to maintain facility wide compliance in physical environment, performs physical environment rounds with the team and validates completion of findings.
Works with team to ensure compliance documentation is being captured in Corrigo. Able to use ATG compliance manager portal.
Collaborates with the Compliance Manager, Account Leadership Team, and Facility Managers in the development of protocols and processes (SOPs) associated with the Joint Commission Environment of Care Standards and all other applicable regulatory agencies.
Assist with the deployment of standardized processes for conducting compliance audits with the compliance rounding team to determine operational readiness/preparedness.
Assist a team of compliance specialists who perform compliance rounding functions and document compliance management following regulatory, client, and JLL standards.
Maintains working knowledge and ensures compliance with the Master Services Agreement (MSA) and relevant amendments or appendices that guide JLL's relationship with the client.
Is the account team alternative representative for client committees including, Environment of Care, Life Safety, Utilities/Water, Infection Control, and Safety committees.
Provides account-wide education to JLL staff on applicable regulatory processes and procedures while also communicating solutions about effective quality/compliance strategies.
Have a working understanding of all applicable standards, as directed by JLL management, specifically in the areas of NFPA101 Life Safety Code-SOC/PFI/ILSM, Safety Management, Security Management, Bio-Hazardous Waste and Hazardous Materials Management and Waste.
Assist the team lead with compliance training.
Provides compliance input for recurring reporting to compliance manager in conjunction with the assistant facility managers.

REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of hospital experience in facility operations and/or safety management
Experience in hospital systems with multiple hospital locations
Working knowledge of Joint Commission Environment of Care Standards (required) including safety codes (NFPA101)
Previous experience in a Joint Commission survey for a hospital facility/system
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products
Schedule: Monday - Friday day shift with on-call required
