Job Description
Encyclopaedia Britannica Inc. in Chicago, IL seeks a Senior Accountant to research and apply U.S. GAAP and IFRS technical accounting guidance or other accounting standards to support the accounting treatment of transactions, particularly when these may differ from local/statutory reporting requirements. Full accounting and general ledger responsibility includes preparation of standalone and consolidated financial statements for multiple asset origination entities. Perform month-end close duties as assigned accurately and on time, manage account reconciliations of balance sheet on a monthly basis, audit and review transactions related to all balance sheet accounts, ensure monthly reconciliations are reviewed by the Controller. Manage compliance and funding obligations in development loans, shareholder and partnership agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and other debt and equity financing documents, including management of borrowings, disbursements, consents, notices, and waivers to address emerging project matters. Responsible for cash flow forecasting for the next 12 months with the support of the Project team to drive overall company financials, prepare annual budget in US dollars, and foreign base currencies when needed. Conduct risk management for the project by reviewing agreements and managing the collection of payment verification to mitigate risks. Manage payment method options to include ACH, credit and debit cards, checks, and other forms of payment as applicable. Responsible for following up on outstanding problems with utilities and vendors. Telecommuting/remote work allowed.
