Join Our Team as a Polymers Team Lead!
Are you passionate about Polymer Products? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Production & Facilities function. As an Polymers Team Lead, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.
S&C is a specialist in electric power switching and protection, providing products for the electric power industry since 1911. Among those products is a line of molded cycloaliphatic epoxy products. The Production Support Lead will provide direction for the Compounding and Mold Maintenance Support areas in the cycloaliphatic epoxy molding department. The focus will be on meeting divisional expectations for quality, safety, delivery, and productivity. This position will report to the Manager - Production Operations in the Polymer Products Division. In this job, you will be required to give constant attention to detail, possess good problem-solving skills and have excellent communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Performing planning functions to ensure the timely availability of components and materials.
Setting and maintaining high levels of product quality.
Following set PM schedules
Providing the necessary direction to attain high levels of productivity.
Promoting safety awareness and housekeeping and investigating and reporting on safety incidents.
Identifying training and skill development to meet departmental needs
Lead Team improvement efforts
Set Daily Expectations to TMS
What you'll Need To Succeed:
Job Requirements (To select this job at a minimum you must have the following):
Demonstrated high regard for people by treating them with dignity, respect, fairness and consistency.
Demonstrated good technical, analytical and problem-solving skills related to a manufacturing process.
Possess good PC skills.
Ability to troubleshoot relevant equipment.
Ability to read Blueprints and Schematics
Understanding of the Material Compounding systems
Understanding of electrical heaters and hydraulic systems
Safe handling of compounding chemicals
Ability to operate relevant material handling equipment.
Experience operating and setting up mold machines
Ability to use basic math and measuring tools
Ability to use a variety of hand-held tools and air-impact tools.
Understanding of Vacuum systems
Ability to calibrate scales
Ability to use Oracle to transact raw materials and create P Shippers
Ability to use Wonderware software as it pertains to compounding functions
Ability to lead a team
Relevant work experience: Three years of experience leading projects, teams or departments.
Major Physical Demands:
Standing: Some tasks performed in a standing position.
Lifting: Occasional lifting of items ranging in weight from 5 to 40 lbs.
Walking: Frequent walking moderate distances (less than mile).
Carrying: Occasional carrying of items ranging in weight from 5 to 40 lbs.
