Position Summary
The Extra Help (EH) Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for the provision of occupational therapy services within her or his individual scope of clinical competence including: examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, development and implementation of a plan of care that includes direct intervention, communication, collaboration and patient education and the evaluation of outcomes in an inpatient setting. The EH OT is also responsible for upholding professional standards and promoting quality in practice.

EH OT are responsible for administrative tasks related to the patient care services they provide and required for regulatory and organizational compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide professional therapy services in accordance with the standards established by the professional association and other relevant regulatory requirements. Supervise Occupational Therapist students.
Complete administrative and regulatory tasks required as an employee of the UI Health and for practice as a licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of Illinois.
Other related duties as assigned.
(Alternative productivity expectations may be determined within this classification based on fluctuating needs of the department)
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications


Licensure or Eligibility for licensure as a registered occupational therapist by the State of Illinois under the condition that they have been issued a letter of authorization from the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation (IDFPR) allowing them to practice under supervision

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in an adult inpatient hospital setting.
