Purpose

A lineman is responsible for building and maintaining electric power systems and for restoring electric service to commercial, industrial, agricultural and residential customers.

Accountabilities

Have or be able to learn a broad spectrum of tasks and job duties required of linework.
Safe over the road driving and jobsite operations of equipment including Digger Derrick, Bucket Truck, and various line building equipment.
Ability to follow approved work practices involving dead line and live line working procedures on Distribution and Transmission Systems.
Capable of responding (as required) to calls for the restoration of the Transmission and Distribution System both during business hours and outside business hours.
Ability to expertly represent the company and the company brand while working with customers.
Capable of working on a team and within a team environment.
Demonstrate competency with computers

Education and Experience

HS diploma or equivalent
Must have or be able to acquire a Class A CDL Driver's License
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Have completed or be able to complete structured apprenticeship program or equivalent.
Must be able to complete Introduction to Line Work course within 30 days
Time management skills
Continuous computer and hands on training
Must comply with the living requirement for this position (PA-5)

Compensation

Pay per scale.
