Description:

The Records and Information Management Coordinator collaborates with employees from all parts of the University of Illinois system to support their information management (IM) needs. Working with teammates and subject matter experts, the Coordinator supports department-level IM projects involving digital and paper files, develops and delivers training materials, maintains web resources for the team, explores IM trends and technologies, and assists in the development of program priorities and policy and compliance requirements. As a member of the Records and Information Management Services team, the Coordinator serves as a trusted resource to: help departments achieve compliance and improve efficiency, advance the strategic value of the University's information assets, and foster innovative industry standards for IM. Sponsorship for Work authorization is not available for this position.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide primary responsibility for one or more of the following areas: the development and delivery of IM training programs, maintenance of web-based resources and the unit's website, coordination of shared offsite storage of inactive departmental records, or support of special projects.
Provide direct support and guidance to departments on IM projects, represent the IM program on committees, and respond to inquiries about best practices regarding the management of information assets including creation, storage, organization, digitization, access, security, privacy, and disposition.
Work closely with colleagues to: research, develop, and promulgate IM policy and compliance requirements; develop and implement processes, priorities, long-range plans, goals and deadlines, reports, and data analysis to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the IM program; and stay abreast of the latest advances in information governance and technologies, such as cloud computing, privacy and security regulations, and artificial intelligence.
Supervise student personnel and perform other duties and responsibilities, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Bachelor's degree.
A total of one (1) year (12 months) of work experience in the administration of one or more of the following programs: records management, archives, library and information science, data science, business process improvement, project management, information technology, or similar. (Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced training, certification, or demonstrated experience in information governance.
Experience analyzing policies, administering a records center or electronic records system, developing retention schedules, and/or appraising and managing records or archives in state government or higher education.
