Job Description

Position SummaryThe HR Benefits Specialist is an integral role in the administration of First Busey Corporation's Total Rewards; through service excellence the Specialist will provide support in leveraging the comprehensive benefits, services and programs to eligible employees, retirees, and their dependents.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist in administration of the insurance plan including benefit eligibility and termination, billing, new hire and open enrollment, vendor communication, and associate questions/problems
Assist in administration of retirement plans including benefit eligibility, enrollment, loans/rollovers, vendor communication, associate questions/problems, etc.
Maintain and assure accurate data integrity in the HRIS and vendor platforms
Assist in the preparation of requested reports for use by the Benefits & HR teams
Assist with communicating and enforcing First Busey's Human Resources policies and practices as well as applicable state/federal labor laws and regulations
Assist in other areas of the HR Operations as needed; assist with research of and timely resolution to problems
Education & Experience
Knowledge of:
Employee benefit laws and regulations
Benefit related functions of an HRIS system
Microsoft Office Suite
Strong oral, written communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to:
Maintain confidentiality of associate information
Multi-task, work independently, and prioritize workflow
Analyze problems and make appropriate decisions based on Benefits Playbook and best practices
Problem solve through identification of optimal solutions that assess the impact of the issue and long term outcomes
Perform duties and make decisions under frequent time pressures

Education and Training:
Requires High School diploma, Associate degree preferred
Previous Human Resources/HRIS/benefits administration experience preferred
