Job Description:
POSITION TITLE: Student Employee, Veterinary Technology
STATUS: Part time
DEPARTMENT: Agriculture Sciences & Veterinary Technology
DIVISION: Academic Affairs
REPORTS TO: Marissa Erickson
CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt
MINIMIUM PAY RATE: $14.00 per hour
(Position is FWS Eligible)

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepare, break down, and supply laboratories.
2. Inventory supplies.
3. Animal requisition from shelters.
4. Cleaning.
5. Clerical work - typing, copying, scanning, filling, etc.
6. Errands around campus.
7. Answering phones.
8. Restocking supplies.
9. Going to Weitendorf Agricultural Center to assist in care of large animals, and clean up as needed.
10. Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Enrolled at JJC for at least 6 credit hours.
2. GPA of 2.0 or above.
3. Professional in appearance and demeanor.
4. HOURS: Must be available to work Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am-9pm, 10 hours/week.
4. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
2. Demonstrated multicultural competence.

* Normal office physical demands

WORKING CONDITIONS
* Duties are performed indoors in the usual office and/or outdoor environment

Scheduled Weekly Hours: This is a student employee position that works around your class schedule. May work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. During summer and holiday breaks (Winter/Spring), may work up to 28 hours per week with supervisor approval.
