Wieland currently has an immediate need for a Tool & Die Technician to handle tasks associated with tooling maintenance, die set assembly, and modifications on stamping related processes - as well as performing preventative and predictive maintenance on these systems. This role will sit in Wieland's East Alton, IL facility.
Starting Pay: $44.81
Schedule: Rotating/Swinging
Pay Schedule: Bi-weekly

Responsibilities

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
Works together with and/or leads the operating crew to minimize downtime and to maximize productivity
Responsible for making the basic decisions on how a mechanical repair is to proceed and perform quality repairs the first time in a timely manner
Work with the production team for constant improvement
Perform administrative duties as assigned, including completion of work order documentation and data entry into the computerized maintenance system
Assigned tasks associated with tooling maintenance, die set assembly, and modifications on stamping related processes - as well as performing preventative and predictive maintenance on these systems
Maintenance Technician Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent; 2 year college degree in Machine Shop preferred
Minimum of five years industrial/maintenance machinist experience OR a four year apprenticeship certification (Machinist or Tool & Die Maker required)
Experience in press repair and general equipment breakdown maintenance is preferred but not required
Understanding of Predictive Maintenance and Preventative Maintenance practices is a plus
