Salary Range:Entry rate is approx. $31.70/hr with annual pay of $65,936 - $78,499 with 3 - 5 years seniority.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for inspectingand properly repairingplumbing of locomotive systems to include air brake, exhaust system, lube oil, cooling water, air compressor, radiators, and fuel systems.Additional responsibilities include the following:
Cut, shape, and modify items utilizing various methods (e.g. seaming, riveting, brazing, or welding)
Utilize pipethreaders, pipe bending, pipe coupling, sheet metal brakes, shears, snaps, metal cutting saws, drills, wire feed welders, oxygen/acetylene cutting torches, and repair various components of locomotives
Inspect and properly repairlocomotive air, water, gas, oil, sand and steampiping
Install, disassemble/assemble, repair/replace locomotive and diesel engine components

SHIFTS/HOURS
Full-time (40hrs/wk)
Subject seniority and governed by union agreement
Assigned shift maybe one of three 8-hour shifts
Mechanical shops operate 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
At least 18 years of age, or will be by the anticipated start date listed above
Ability to report for duty at the designated work location
Able to work safely in the above working conditions
Able to work the above shift/hours
Abilityto read, write and communicate (speak, hear and understand) English
Abilityto lift and carry up to50lbs
Abilityto visually distinguish colors - red, blue, green, yellow and lunar (clear light)
Ability to discriminate and differentiate between verbal and non-verbal sounds (signals, alarms, etc.) in the work environment.
Ability to use handsanduse hand toolsto perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning and pulling
Ability toclimb ladders and get on/off equipment
Ability tooccasionallywork at various heights including making repairs on topoflocomotives
Ability tobend, walk, standandsitoccasionally with breaks
Follow safety policies and procedures; wear required personal protective equipment
