Salary Range:Pay rate $29.71-$36.25/hr with annual pay of $61,796 - $75,400 with 3 - 5 years seniority

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for keeping work areas clean and orderly,as well as operating industrial maintenance equipment within a shop environment and moving locomotives using radio and hand signals to communicate

EQUIPMENT OPERATION

Operate forklift, mobile crane,trackmobile, shop tractor, and power hand tools

EQUIPMENT AND SHOP MAINTENANCE

Sand, fuel,and clean locomotives

Clean and organize shop work area (sweep and clean work surfaces, store parts, empty and discard garbage)

Operate power-driven equipment such as a vacuum cleaner, electric broom, or steam cleaning gun

SHIFTS/HOURS

Full-time (40 hours/week)

Subject to seniority and governed by union agreement

Mechanical shops operate 24 hours/day, 7 days/weekwith three 8-hour shifts including weekends, holidays, and overtime

TRAVEL

Minimal

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

At least 18 years of age, or will be by the anticipated start date listed above

Ability to report for duty at the designated work location

Able to work safely in the above working conditions

Able toworkthe above shift/hours

Abilityto read, write and communicate (speak, hear and communicate) English

Ability to lift and carry up to60lbswithout assistance

Possess valid state-issued driver's license

Abilityto visually distinguish colors - red, blue, green, yellow

Ability to discriminate and differentiate between verbal and non-verbal sounds (signals, alarms, etc.) in the work environment

Ability to use hands and use hand tools to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning and pulling

Ability to occasionallywork from various heights

Ability tobend, walk, stand andsit occasionally with breaks

Follow safety policies and procedures; wear required personal protective equipment

Ability to work in a team environment
