Brief Overview of the Role

The Assistant Project Manager, Innovation, is a pivotal role within Burns & McDonnell’s Innovation department. This role supports the planning, execution, and delivery of innovative projects. The Assistant Project Manager works collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met efficiently and effectively.

What You Will Do

+ Assist in managing the lifecycle of innovation projects, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals and adherence to established OKRs.

+ Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to define project scopes, set specific, measurable objectives, and ensure alignment with broader organizational strategies.

+ Facilitate and participate in regular OKR review sessions to assess project progress, identify any deviations from the strategic path, and implement necessary adjustments.

+ Coordinate across various teams to drive projects towards timely and successful completion, ensuring tasks and deliverables meet strategic objectives.

+ Enhance communication strategies to maintain transparency and continuous engagement with all project stakeholders about goals, progress, and outcomes.

+ Monitor and report on the achievement of key results, using data-driven insights to steer project decisions and resource allocation.

+ Assist in the roll-out and adoption of project management and OKR tracking tools like Microsoft Viva Goals, ensuring tools are effectively utilized to enhance strategic alignment.

+ Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, emphasizing the alignment of project outcomes with strategic business objectives.

Qualifications

+ Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, preferably within innovation-driven environments.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

+ Strong understanding of project management techniques and methodologies.

+ Proficient in using Microsoft Project, Microsoft Planner, or similar project management tools.

+ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

+ Experience in the construction or engineering sectors is an advantage.

+ Familiarity with innovation management platforms like Microsoft Viva Goals and technologies relevant to engineering and construction, such as Palantir Foundry and Google Cloud Platform, is highly desirable.
