Job Description

In this role, you will work with designing, developing, and integrating technology patterns that are focused on technology stacks brought to Hub International through Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). This role will provide day-to-day solution architecture strategic assessments, guidance and operational assistance to the M&A Integrations (MAI) team in the development of sustainable technology answers for newly acquired agencies.

Objectives of this Role

+ Develop and create MAI standard patterns for systems integrations.

+ Evaluate incoming M&A technology and assess degree of difficulty to integrate

+ Evaluate incoming M&A technology against organizational capabilities to perform maintenance, support, enhancements and upgrades

+ Make recommendations to MAI and Enterprise Architecture leadership on how to proceed with acquired technologies

+ Identify potential technical issues and engineer possible solutions to MAI technical hurdles.

+ Identify low value, yet high risk MAI technology that is being acquired.

+ Engage with MAI and Enterprise Architecture leadership regularly with reports on project status, activities, and achievements

+ Perform and contribute to “Technical Archeology” (Platform and System Decomposition) for acquired systems and business applications that are in production.

+ Develop solutions by understanding and studying systems flows, data usage and work processes

+ Contribute to the expansion, growth, and maturity of Enterprise Architecture.

+ Develop and communicate acquired technology system narratives.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

+ Communicate with stakeholders to assist in the identification of business, technical, and operational requirements.

+ Assist and conduct application stack and systems decomposition research and engineering tasks.

+ Assist in maintaining the current EA platform and business application catalogs, service maps, and application narratives.

+ Be responsible for analysis and recommendation of acquired technology “on-boarding”

+ Review technical specifications from clients and vendors to confirm adequacy, accuracy, and functionality of proposed solutions

+ Assist in developing support channels and channel documentation for acquired technology.

+ Collaboration and communication with Enterprise IT operational groups on status of MnA technical events.

Role Outcomes

+ Transparent communication and coordination between EA and MAI organizations

+ Active involvement in MAI Due Diligence process, evaluating within 7-day DD Risk Assessment window incoming MAI deals for integration risks and high costs

+ Contribution to superior pre-close integration approach creation,

+ Identification and escalation to senior leadership as needed for involvement and decisions on new technology ingestion

+ Contribution to MAI cost estimates for development, delivery and support & maintenance

+ Participation in integration design and build activities to ensure MAI alignment EA current technology blueprint and future roadmap

+ Facilitation of EA leadership approvals for new technology plans

Skills and Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in technology or applicable experience.

+ 10+ Years of experience with / of programming languages (PowerShell, python, shell scripting) and operating systems (Windows Server 2008-2019); current system performance-monitoring tools, application tracing tools, process tracing tools, active directory, virtualization, MSSQL, application / content delivery

+ 3+ years of experience with AWS infrastructure as a service

+ 3+ years of experience with Azure infrastructure and O365 services and technology

+ Networking (Firewall / Switching / Wifi) and Enterprise EFP experience is a bonus (BGP, OSPF, HSRP, STP, SNMP, Netflow, NBar, Packet Tracing, measures vs metrics vs observables, etc)

+ Collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability skills

+ Experience in project management, systems design and integration.

+ Expertise in analyzing and documenting large-scale distributed systems

+ Desire to continuously develop your skills and knowledge

+ An ability to diagnose and resolve problems quickly and efficiently

+ Thorough knowledge of layered systems architectures and layered solutions and designs

+ Consultative skills, including the ability to understand and assist in applying customer requirements, including drawing out unforeseen implications and making recommendations for design, the ability to define design reasoning, understanding potential impacts of design requirements

Although hybrid to a local Hub location is preferable, this position is open to remote candidates.
