The Opportunity

The Sr. Associate will focus on Insight Sourcing’s specialized Center of Excellence (COE) to support all aspects of client-facing sourcing and cost optimization projects within either Chemicals, Food and Beverage, or Metals. You’ll be expected to support all aspects of Insight Sourcing’s client-facing projects with direction from our experienced management team. Additionally, you’ll use your consulting, problem-solving, project management, and data analysis skills to assist client decision-making at private equity (PE) and Fortune 500 companies while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Shape Client Success in Procurement

Typical client-facing projects would involve COE expertise within the context of:

+ Strategic sourcing and cost optimization (both within a company and across a portfolio of companies)

+ Procurement opportunity assessment and opportunity roadmap

+ Spend analytics

+ Make vs. buy decision analysis

+ Regional sourcing strategies

+ Benchmarking and best practices implementation

Role Specifications:

Chemicals Role:

+ 4+ years in chemical sourcing (consulting, distributor, or chemical company)

+ Familiar with mainstream chemicals (caustic soda, aromatics, olefins, chlor-alkalies, inorganics, organics)

+ Hands-on experience in sourcing, including client assessment, RFP process, and key supplier relationship management

+ Strong relationships with chemical suppliers

+ Ownership of Chemicals COE, with deep knowledge and IP in the chemicals space

Food and Beverage Role:

+ 4+ years of experience supporting procurement and/or strategic sourcing initiatives within the Food & Beverage industry

+ Experience within one or more of the following categories: proteins, agricultural commodities, ingredients, finished goods, distribution, and co-manufacturing

+ Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, cost optimization, procurement opportunity assessment, spend analytics, and make vs. buy decision analysis

+ Strong project management, consulting, leadership, and analytical skills

+ Ability to develop and nurture client relationships and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Metals Role:

+ 4+ years of experience sourcing metals like steel and aluminum (post-refinery focus)

+ Experience with companies such as Nucor, US Steel, SDI, or Worthington is ideal

+ Deep understanding of the metals market and supplier relationships

The ideal candidate possesses some experience and exposure to Chemicals, Food and Beverage, OR Metals procurement and/or supplier negotiations across these areas. The Sr. Associate will be expected to infuse Insight Sourcing’s consulting business with their expertise across clients’ spend stacks while building upon their current Procurement base by demonstrating a strong aptitude for learning.

+ Sr. Associate: 4-7 years of experience supporting procurement and/or strategic sourcing initiatives within the Chemicals, Food and Beverage or Metals industry; management consulting experience with a well-regarded firm is a plus.

+ Previous experience reviewing and negotiating MSAs, T&Cs, and other similar agreements with manufacturers, distributors, or co-manufacturing suppliers

+ Solid analytical skills, including the ability to manage resources performing complex analytics as a basis for client decision support data

+ Ability to effectively plan and manage multiple projects, tasks, and initiatives simultaneously

+ Strong communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to present comfortably to senior executives

+ Strong client services skills/orientation developed by working with either internal business customers or, preferably, external consulting clients

+ An interest and passion for growing and developing junior team members

+ Strong work ethic and high level of integrity

+ Team-oriented mindset and strong interpersonal skills

+ Undergrad degree from a highly competitive institution; MBA a plus, but not required

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
