Job Title: Truck and Trailer Mechanic
Job Description
Seeking a skilled Truck and Trailer Mechanic for a 2nd shift maintenance role, responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing all fleet equipment to ensure DOT compliance. Initially, training will be conducted on the 1st shift. The role requires performing preventative maintenance, repairing defects, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and utilizing appropriate safety equipment. Candidates should have the ability to use diagnostic software, enter work orders, and ensure all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Hard Skills
+ Knowledge of truck and trailer maintenance
+ Ability to use cutting torches
+ Experience with diagnostic software
+ CDL A or ability to acquire it timely
Soft Skills
+ Mechanically inclined
+ Ability to follow safety and housekeeping rules
+ Capacity to maintain a safe and clean work area
Job Type
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 90 Day(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Rockford, Illinois.
Work Environment
The role involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, occasional wet and/or humid conditions, and a typically loud noise level. Personal protective equipment required includes a hard hat, safety glasses, and safety shoes.
