Position Description:
Joseph T. Ryerson & Son, Inc., is one of the largest metals distributors in the US. We operate approximately 100 locations with 3,900 employees in North America, Canada and China. We are currently seeking a Sr.Accountant to contribute as an essential member within the corporate accounting team in downtown Chicago, IL. This position will report to the Sr. Accounting Manager, but will work with all members of the team.

Roles and Responsibilities
* Heavy involvement in monthly close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations
* Preparation of monthly financial statements for a division of Ryerson
* Responsible for the oversight of financial results of a division of Ryerson
* Assist plant management in understanding monthly financial results
* Assist plants in researching and resolving financial issues
* Workers compensation and competitive allowances accounting
* Assist in internal management reporting and analysis
* Development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures
* Work on other special projects, as assigned

Position Requirements:
* Bachelors degree in accounting
* CPA preferred
* 3-5 years of monthly financial close experience
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills
* Knowledge of SAP a plus
