Job Description

Sr. Business Manager, Cell Biology is a highly motivated and experienced sales professional who is capable of handling various aspects of the business, including sales and customer relations and also helps to influence marketing and product development in strategic areas. Additional responsibilities may include developing and implementing business plans, identifying market opportunities, conducting market research, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Provide field collaboration and support on new product launches, industry segment strategies and improve our position in key accounts. Establish and maintain a mutually beneficial relationship with the external channels based on trust and common goals.

Responsibilities:

+ Build and implement strategies to drive growth and profitability in the Cell Biology business unit.

+ Establish mechanisms for the leadership team to achieve strategic objectives and annual goals including revenue, profitability, as well as employee and customer initiatives.

+ Identify market opportunities and conduct market research to influence product development and marketing strategies in partnership with product management and marketing teams.

+ Collaborate across functions for the launch of new products and services in line with market demands.

+ Provide leadership and guidance to commercial team and channel partners, a team of professionals, encouraging a collaborative and successful work environment.

+ Build and maintain relationships with key customers and industry leaders in the field of cell biology.

+ Supervise industry trends and competitor activities to identify potential threats and opportunities.

+ Analyze financial data and critical metrics to track performance and make data-driven decisions.

+ Stay current on advancements in cell biology research and standard industry processes.

+ Develop and maintain field and portfolio management relationships with external channels to promote the Thermo Scientific Cell Culture Plastics.

+ Understand who the key players are in the channel and cultivate relationships to increase revenue.

+ Function as a key point of contact for channel partners seeking rebate and provide support for competitive situations.

+ Evaluate the sales opportunities, sales funnel (SFDC) for the business unit in conjunction with the Sales Leaders.

Qualifications and Experience:

+ Bachelors degree in Sciences, MBA preferred.

+ 7+ years of experience in industry, academia, or related field with growing responsibilities.

+ Experience in direct/distribution sales and marketing (2 years minimum).

+ Consistent track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.

+ Shown ability to develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth.

+ Excellent leadership and management skills and ability to encourage and motivate a team.

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, balancing multiple priorities optimally.

+ Willing to travel approximately 25%.

+ This position is an office based on-site role.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $94,000.00-$145,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
