A Robert Half client in the manufacturing sector, located in Chicago, is seeking a Senior HRBP. In this role, you will be responsible for providing strategic advice and hands-on support related to all aspects of people management within the organization. You will lead a team of HR Business Partners, guide managers on employee relations, development, succession planning, and employee engagement, and actively engage with client groups to anticipate and solve challenges. Additionally, you will support recruitment strategies, and design and implement effective performance development structures. You will play a crucial role in enhancing core HR processes. This position offers a hybrid work schedule: 4 days onsite, and 1 day remote.

Responsibilities

+ Build strong collaborative relationships with leaders of specific departments, offering strategic advice and practical support on people and compensation matters.

+ Provide leadership to an HRBP Team, demonstrating strategic behaviors and skills, and assisting with complex personnel issues.

+ Guide managers in overseeing their team members’ performance, development, succession planning, retention, engagement, progression, and compensation.

+ Actively engage with client groups to foresee potential issues, proposing solutions to address challenges and support business growth.

+ Support the performance management process, including setting goals, conducting performance evaluations, creating development plans, and managing compensation discussions.

+ Promote the use of feedback mechanisms with managers and the executive team, acting as a representative for team members.

+ Coach managers on giving effective feedback and nurturing a high-performance culture.

+ Encourage managerial practices that enhance retention of high potential and key talent.

+ Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, performance issues, and compensation queries.

+ Work with the Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers on recruitment strategies and compensation practices as needed.

+ Conduct investigations and manage complex employee relations cases, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies.

+ Assist the HR team in developing, implementing, and communicating HR policies, programs, and procedures.

+ Lead and participate in initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement and enhancing core HR processes.

Requirements

Requirements:

+ Proven experience in a managerial role within a Human Resources department in the manufacturing industry

+ Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR practices

+ Demonstrated experience in employee relations

+ Proficiency in managing performance and talent acquisition processes

+ Experience in succession planning and talent management

+ Strong skills in training and development of staff

+ Ability to ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations

+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

+ Strong leadership and team management abilities

+ Proficient in using HR software and tools

+ Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred

+ Professional certification in HR (such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) is an advantage.
