The Role

As Lumen Sr. Project Cost Control, you will provide Capex and Opex analysis, Cost per Unit analysis, reporting, support to various teams. This includes but is not limited to preparing periodic spending reports, budgets and forecasts as well as evaluating project business cases and the underlying assumptions of those cases. The role works with varying levels of management on other requests as necessary and with various teams to validate data integrity from multiple sources to provide insight and provide recommendations.

The Main Responsibilities

+ Partner with Custom Networks Regional Teams and Finance to Analysis to establish and track the monthly/annual Network Capital spending, forecast, accrual and provide insights on risks and issues

+ Partner with Custom Networks Regional Teams and Finance to Analysis to establish and track the monthly/annual Network Opex spending, forecast, accrual and provide insights on risks and issues

+ Track and Monitor Customer Networks Resources Capital and Opex spending

+ Support the Regional Teams with creating Purchase Requisition aligning with the deployment requirements

+ Track and report on Cost per unit for various build types and compare against the baseline estimates and report variances

+ Create, forecast, report, annual/monthly savings forecast for network expenditures

+ Recode management, establish and document process for the related role. Identify on-going process improvements

+ Successfully validate any prior period adjustments recommended by accounting and help in ensuring the reconciliation of the actuals monthly are proper

What We Look For in a Candidate

+ Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business or relevant field or equivalent experience

+ Minimum 5 years related experience

+ Strong financial and analytical skills

+ Ability to use advanced Excel functions.

+ Ability to structure and convey ideas and information, both verbally and in written presentation form, in a concise, effective and persuasive manner to bring clear understanding to the target audience

+ Ability to examine data from multiple sources to determine whether correlation and linkage exist between data sets

+ Ability to organize and manage work in an efficient and effective manner to ensure task, milestones and goals are met according to defined timelines

+ Preferred Qualifications:

+ Strong organizational and problem solving skills.

+ Prior work experience in regulatory or accounting.

+ Knowledge of SAP software applications and Power BI.

+ Ability to work in a team environment

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee’s primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$63980 – $85300 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.

$67340 – $89780 in these states: AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.

$70710 – $94270 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.

$74070 – $98760 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.

As with the pay range variety that’s based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
