The Role at a Glance

This position will be responsible for maintaining pricing assumptions that impact multiple Group Benefits product lines – including but not limited to expenses, interest rates, and capital. The position is also responsible for coordinating updates to pricing assumptions in our pricing tools and systems. You will provide subject matter expertise and direction on complex projects/initiatives related to their areas of responsibility. You will develop and perform complex actuarial analysis and provide recommendations for their areas of responsibility. You will lead actuarial projects and proactively identify challenges and resolutions.

What you’ll be doing

+ Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.

+ Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.

+ Identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.

+ Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects.

+ Provides direction on complex assignments, projects, and/or initiatives to build and enhance the capability.

+ Leads actuarial projects and proactively identifies challenges and resolutions.

+ Analyzes and synthesizes information from multiple sources in varying degrees of completeness and clarity to develop and present actuarial recommendations to different levels of management and other stakeholders.

+ Provides subject matter expertise on actuarial models and assumption development and suggests new ways of managing risk.

+ Monitors and analyzes developments in actuarial techniques, laws and regulations applicable to company operations, and competitive developments in the marketplace.

+ Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines. Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.

+ Remains current in profession and industry trends.

+ Makes a positive contribution as demonstrated by: Making suggestions for improvement and learning new skills, procedures and processes

+ Performs other duties as required.

What we’re looking for

Must Haves:

+ 4 Year/Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or other quantitative major

+ 5 – 7+ Years actuarial experience directly aligned to the specific responsibilities for this position.

+ Upon Hire Certifications/Licensures: (Minimum of 5-8 Actuarial Exams passed; typically has ASA or FSA designation.)

The pay range for this position is $105,301 – $190,000 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
