Work Schedule: 8 Hr (8:00:00 AM – 5:00:00 PM)

Summary:

This position works directly with the program medical director, BMT Quality Supervisor and other staff to report statistical data to operationally mandatory accreditation agencies for the purposes of national and international development and recognition. Primary responsibilities of this position are coordination and analysis of data and all clinical status information of patients referred to bone marrow transplant. The senior coordinator works with the other coordinators to compile data for quality assurance activities including, morbidity and mortality information, continuous resource management and internal quality initiatives. Prepares weekly, monthly and yearly statistical analysis and reports to program director and BMT Quality Supervisor to keep in compliance of industry standards, in addition to the quality initiatives of the yearly quality improvement plan. This includes maintenance and project management to meet ever changing industry standards for all accreditation agencies. Required Job Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree.

- Five years’ experience.

- Experience in marketing and presentation are essential.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Access; have strong knowledge of Access and Excel.

- Strong analytical and customer service skills.

- Qualified candidates must have the ability to perform statistical analysis.

- Ability to interact effectively with a multi-disciplinary team.

- Must be adaptable with the ability to learn new concepts and systems to continuously improve the operations of the Bone Marrow Transplant area.

- Ability to collect, correlate, and analyze clinical data as appropriate to determine trends and develop Quality Improvement interventions where needed.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

- Knowledge of managed care guidelines, medical terminology, coding, insurance language, billing and benefits is.

- Five years’ experience in healthcare or humanity related field with a strong focus in data management.

Responsibilities:

1. Coordinates patient demographic information, insurance information, clinical health information for donor and recipients and completes data entry, validation, monthly audits and statistical analysis for monthly reporting.

2. Tracks all patients for services provided in the Section of Bone Marrow Transplant for statistical analysis and use in QI initiatives both internally in department but also externally for Rush Quality Program and regulatory/insurance agencies for accreditation purposes.

3. Accurately tracks all patients for services provided in the Section of Bone Marrow Transplant from inception until patient has passed to CIBMTR. Addresses all CIBMTR data queries and manages issues in database

4. Organization and coordination of quality reports on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis, including statistical analysis, presentation, and assisting with implementation of improvement strategies.

5. Assists the quality manager for the bone marrow transplant program to maintain industry standards, commercial, government, insurance and clinical performance, through maintenance and development of programs.

6. Assists in the coordination, data collection/reporting and preparation for all accreditation agency site visits (FACT, BDCT, ASBMT etc). Lead CIBMTR audit preparation and manage any necessary corrective action follow-up. Develop new audits or changes to workflow based on outcomes of regulatory inspections.

6.7. Independently manage data reporting for Cigna RFI submission and insuranceother insurance carrier surveys.

7.8. Reviews medical records for data collection and analysis to meet requirements of necessary forms, including those for CIBMTR (Center for International Bone Marrow Transplant Registry) and NMDP (National Marrow Donor Program). This includes but is not limited to initiation, monitoring of compliance, and spreadsheet maintenance of all TED forms, research forms, NMDP protocols and consents.

8.9. Documents and monitors quality assurance indicators by data collection through various resources including the data base, EPIC and/or chart audit including but not limited to: length of stay, psychosocial consult, smoking cessation, yearly QI audits, CRM initiatives, and yearly quality improvement initiatives. Provides status report and analysis to clinical staff for review.

9.10. Assists with the long term follow up process in collaboration with Quality Analyst regarding IDPA patients. Coordinates requests for information and maintenance of spreadsheets on data. Assists midlevel providers and registered nurses with patient contact for follow up information and updated demographic data.

10.11. Assist with development, regular review, and approval of BMT standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with data collection and reporting requirements.

11.12. Manage compilation of patient charts including audit of each chart to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to regulatory requirements. Efficiently manage the physical location of patient charts, overseeing retention in accordance with required regulatory timeframes and implementing systematic organization strategies to streamline retrieval processes.

12.13. Mentors and helps onboard (when applicable) other Accreditation Data Coordinators in Bone Marrow Transplant.

13.14. Develops annual goals for the Accreditation Data team with input and final approval from the BMT Quality Supervisor.

14.15. All other duties as assigned by management.
