Accounting Payable/Recievable

Our client in the Sauk Valley area is looking for a hardworking, motivated talent to join their team. This is a family owned business that manufactures goods in the public service market. The company has been around since 1938. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their finance team. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for managing customer accounts, ensuring timely collections, and maintaining accurate records of payments and outstanding balances. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles.

What will you be doing?

+ Generate and send out invoices to customers accurately and timely.

+ Follow up on overdue accounts and manage accounts receivable aging.

+ Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies as needed.

+ Process customer payments and apply them to the appropriate invoices.

+ Investigate and resolve customer inquiries related to billing issues or disputes.

+ Monitor and maintain credit limits and terms for customers.

+ Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports related to accounts receivable.

+ Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to resolve customer issues.

+ Assist in month-end closing procedures and account reconciliations.

+ Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.

What do you bring?

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

+ Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable Specialist or similar role.

+ Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

+ Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).

+ Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

+ Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

+ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

+ Experience in handling confidential and sensitive information with integrity
