The Loan Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the lending department and its customers. This position is a growth position with a career path towards a Banker/Lender. This position will report directly to and work closely with our top lending officers. The Loan Coordinator will collaborate closely with loan coordinators and credit analysts in our other regions, and will have frequent contact with our customers.
Collects, secures, and evaluates loan documentation, including applications, financial statements, and collateral valuations.
Partners with loan officers in various locations by overseeing their call schedule, as well as documentation such as notices, credit memos, watch list memos, past due correspondence, and ordering credit bureau reports.
Manages customers and communicates frequently with them - in person and over the phone - to build lasting relationships, support their banking needs, and provide product and service recommendations
Coordinates workflows in SageWorks credit software, working loans through from origination to closing.
Develops abbreviated credit memos for lender review.
Prepares and reviews loan documentation prior to closing/funding.
Receives loan payments and loan information from customers, assists customers with questions, providing information about bank services, confirming loan balances, provides loan pay-offs, answers credit inquiries on loan customers, and makes loan advances upon request with lender approval.
Attends loan meetings for exposure, learning, and development
Prepares letters, statements, or other notifications for borrowers or other organizations that are involved in the loan as needed.
Ensures department procedures and policies are up to date; stays abreast with changes.
Performs miscellaneous other duties as assigned.

Key Competency Requirements

 

Associates Degree or equivalent experience required
Bachelors degree in business or finance preferred
2-5 years of related experience/exposure within the banking industry strongly preferred
Demonstrates comfort with collaborating with representatives of the business community
Possesses comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter
Demonstrates aptitude for financial transactions
Demonstrates ability to execute work under general supervision
Demonstrates strong customer service skills (customer-oriented)
Demonstrates ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and multi-task daily job duties
Demonstrates ability to address moderately-complex job related/technical issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff
Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrates strong team collaboration/team work skills, with ability to work in diverse teams and build/maintain positive working relationships
Demonstrates ability to interact easily and efficiently with banking and credit applications, as well as utilize common office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and related applications; willingness to learn new technologies
Demonstrates ability to work with a significant amount of detailed information in an accurate, timely and confidential manner.
