Beacon Hill is a proud partner to a reputable Retail Company in Chicago. We are currently hiring a Senior Payroll Analyst.

Responsibilities/Duties

The responsibilities of the Senior Payroll Analyst are, but are not limited to:
  • Ensure Compliance: Stay informed about federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations to maintain compliance with all applicable legislation.
  • Comprehend and convey detailed compensation calculations for deferred programs.
  • Be capable of understanding and advising on how earnings and deductions should be calculated for federal, state, and local tax authorities.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies, trends, and areas for improvement. Generate reports and provide insights to stakeholders as needed.
  • Resolve Issues: Investigate and resolve payroll-related inquiries from managers and external parties promptly and professionally.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes, enhance efficiency, and improve accuracy. Implement best practices to optimize payroll operations.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing accurate payroll records, documentation, and support as needed.
  • Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to payroll staff members. Conduct training sessions to ensure team members understand payroll processes and procedures.
  • Resolve internal and external employee inquiries in adherence to department SLAs.
  • Assist the manager and the team with special projects as needed.
  • Serve as a backup for corporate payrolls.
  • Provide payroll reports and data as requested.
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail while managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Implement changes to existing functionality and deliver new processes as we transition towards a standardized centralized model.
  • Assist with or lead implementations of Marmon databases and processes resulting from mergers and acquisitions.
  • Support the development and participate in user acceptance testing/pilot activities to confirm and enhance the employee experience.
  • Perform business analysis and capture business requirements in a structured and systematic manner.
Requirements
  • Proficient in ADP/Workday
  • 5+ years of payroll experience
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
