JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Review APQP documentation (e.g., Process FMEA , Process Control Plans, Gage R&R).
* Participate in process FMEA for suppliers" manufacturing processes.
* Coordinate with engineering personnel on matters regarding Concurrent Product and Process Development (CPPD), New Product Introduction (NPI), Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) teams
* Resolve problems between supplier and manufacturing facility and engineering personnel
* Identify, define and implement process quality and process design steps in line with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements
* Conduct problem solving using a formal method
* Ensure that Design for Manufacture and Assembly principles are applied through the product development process
* Support engineer providing technical expertise and guidance in major manufacturing projects, working with internal/external suppliers to support/improve manufacturing productivity and cost effectiveness
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electrical engineering with relevant manufacturing experience.
* Experience and knowledge of Six sigma, Lean Manufacturing practices and/or APQP
* 5+ years of relevant work experience
* Testing experience- engine preferred
* Data analysis experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
* Strong communication skills
* Understanding of Control Systems, APQP, NPI (New Product Introduction), CPI (Current Product Improvement), and/or Project Risk Analysis
* Expert Knowledge of Production Part Approval Processes (PPAP) elements, submissions, and objectives
* Ability to determine whether a supplier can manufacture products that meet the quality requirements and standards of their customers consistently.
* Process Improvement
* Understanding BIQ, poke yoke
* CAD design and detailing
* Analytical and problem solving ability.
* Team player and detail oriented.
