Job Description

Ecolab/Nalco Software QA Engineering team is responsible for delivering solutions for Ecolab/Nalco Water Division, which will deliver the technical solutions to develop the insights which allow our customers to be cleaner, healthier, and safer. As part of this commitment, you will work with our stakeholders across the Water sector. The solutions you test will be part of Ecolab's global portfolio of products and solutions.

The Senior Software Test Engineer duties include writing scripts and executing tests against a variety of environments. You will plan, design, test and deploy effective testing solutions. Manual testing will be the focus. Creating automated scripts within an already existing framework will also be in scope. You will be part of a dynamic team and utilize a variety of technologies to solve Ecolab's most advanced technical problems. What You Will Do:

Consume software requirements and specifications for testability. Create unit, integration, functional test cases for software applications as well as firmware.

Create software verification test plans for the features being delivered and defects being fixed per testing cycle.

Define the appropriate level of regression testing required in each round of testing.

Create test plans and test cases.

Generate effective reports to provide QA metrics/status

Attend Team Agile meetings and provide reports/updates on assigned tasks: Daily Stand up, Sprint Planning, Sprint Demo, Backlog refinements, and retrospectives.

Work with development team members and product owners to ensure testing coverage of assigned features/requirements

Increase test case automation using an existing framework.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or higher in a technical discipline, preferably software related (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar)

5+ years' experience with modern Q/A methodologies

Experience in white-box testing

Linux command line experience

Strong documentation and organizational skills, excellent verbal, and written communication skills

Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.

Strong collaboration skills

Works independently or well with a team

Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years' experience developing or testing embedded software applications.

Familiarity with serial communication protocols (CANbus, Modbus, MQTT)

Testing experience with Firmware/Embedded systems

Testing experience in ARM based microcontroller (IMX8)

Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies

Experience with Azure DevOps
