The estimated base salary range for this role is "$75,000 to $90,000" per year.

Reporting to the AS Engineering Manager, the AS Design Engineer supports the product line for MRK by providing solutions to internal and external customers through creating drawings to address issues within complex ceiling & wall systems. The incumbent utilizes 2D & 3D design software and provides practical contributions in the skillful translation of design layouts into detailed drawings and perform take-offs as required in the development of projects from inception through order completion.

What you'll do
Level I - Associate
Reviews building plans identifying products and components to prepare for production.
Creates & maintains CAD library drawing files under direct supervision.
Prepares 2D & 3D drawings and/or work order packages for production teams.
Provides production teams with supporting documentation as required on a job-by-job basis.
Maintains a high level of customer focus in producing quality products and services that do not sacrifice the safety of others, oneself, nor the environment.
Commits to and follows the facility mission, vision and values that support the Corporate Operating Principles.
Interprets architectural drawings provided by end customer.
Problem solves issues discovered in drawing review process.
Coordinates, processes, and tracks orders through various stages of the manufacturing process.
Level II - Staff(includes all duties described in Level I)
Analyzes architectural drawings and proposes creative solutions to issues discovered in drawing review process.
Inspects drawing submitted by newer employees for accuracy and adherence to drafting standards.
Provides feedback and mentorship to team members.
Develops internal procedures and practices to be implemented within the Engineering Department, pending review by management.

Strong mechanical aptitude.
Self-manage time effectively to accomplish all tasks within an appropriate time frame.
Proficient in MS Office (emphasis on MS Excel), Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault is a plus.
Proficient written and oral communication skills; bilingual is a plus.
Works well in small groups.
Strong critical thinking/ creative problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage project timelines.
Initiative-taker with a strong ability to multi-task and juggle multiple responsibilities.
Superior organizational and communication skills.

Familiarity with the construction business, estimating, reading blueprints and an understanding of the bidding process desired.
Project Management skillset a plus.
Level I - Associate
Bachelor's degree in design or similar specialty, engineering, or computer science OR 3 - 5 years of equivalent work experience.
Experience with using Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor.
Experience with product development and construction design solutions.
Proven experience in a customer-facing role that includes influencing sales.
Level II - Staff
Bachelor's degree in design or similar specialty, engineering, or computer science OR 5 - 7 years of equivalent work experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or similar specialty.
