We are looking for a Senior Data Engineering Manager to lead our data engineering team and oversee the development and implementation of technical solutions for our data platforms. You will be responsible for setting the vision and direction for our data products, ensuring alignment with the Data Office and other stakeholders across the bank and in IT. You will also act as a technical product owner for our cloud data platforms, including Azure Databricks, and collaborate with other product owners and managers to deliver value to our customers. You will guide and mentor our data engineers, foster a culture of innovation and excellence, and promote best practices in data engineering and agile methodologies. You will report to the Chief Data Technology Officer and work closely with the Enterprise Architecture, Info Security and Data Governance organizations.
Key Accountabilities
Act as a technical product owner for the cloud data platforms, including Azure Databricks, and collaborate with other product owners and managers to deliver value to the customers.
Oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of data products and platforms, ensuring quality, reliability, and scalability.
Establish and enforce data engineering standards, best practices, and guidelines, and ensure compliance with the enterprise data architecture and governance frameworks.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data issues, and ensure data quality and security.
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and coaching to the data engineers, and foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
Position may require the need to travel to other branch or meeting locations.
Key Accountability: Data product development and team leadership.
Lead and manage the data engineering team, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, career development, and retention.
Define and communicate the data engineering vision, roadmap, and backlog, and ensure alignment with the Data Office and other stakeholders.
Act as a technical product owner for the cloud data platforms, including Azure Databricks, and collaborate with other product owners and managers to deliver value to the customers.

Key Accountability: Forward thinking and leadership communications.
Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and cloud data platforms, and evaluate and recommend new solutions and tools.
Prepare and present data engineering reports, dashboards, and metrics to senior leadership and business partners.
Key Competencies for Position
Ability to lead, inspire, and empower a team of data engineers, providing clear direction, feedback, and coaching.
Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with senior leadership, business partners, and technical teams, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to define and execute a data engineering strategy that supports the bank's data vision and goals, and aligns with the enterprise data architecture and governance frameworks.
Ability to manage the end-to-end delivery of data products, from ideation to deployment, using agile and lean principles and practices.
Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects and initiatives, and manage stakeholder expectations and dependencies.
