Maintenance Technician - Desserts
As a part of our manufacturing group, you will be responsible for preventative and reactive maintenance of processing and packaging equipment and providing technical support to improve and optimize within the manufacturing operations and processes.
Shift hours:
8-hour shifts
1st shift: 6:45 am to 3 pm
2nd shift: 2:45 pm to 11 pm
3rd shift: 10:45 pm to 7 am
Currently hiring for 3rd Shift
Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, holidays and emergency events
Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Pay:
$1500 Hiring Bonus!
Hiring Bonus paid after successful completion of 90 day new hire onboarding period
$29.50 per hour up to $36.19 per hour depending upon skillset and experience
Maintenance Tech I: $29.50 per hour
Maintenance Tech II: $32.53 per hour
Maintenance Tech III: $36.19 per hour
Maintenance Tech IV: $40.63 per hour (Internal Advancement Opportunity)
Maintenance Tech IV Level Completion: $44.49
Listed Pay Rates include the $2.00 per hour 3rd shift differential

Our Geneva General Mills facility is located on the western side of the Chicago, Illinois suburbs in Kane County. Geneva is our most recent North America plant network expansion, joining the GMI network in 2024 as they make Betty Crocker desserts and will soon start producing our iconic Gushers and Fruit snacks. What your day will look like:
Creating high quality foods that are eaten EVERYDAY, WORLDWIDE
Using TECHNOLOGY in a newly built, industry-leading facility
Working with HIGH-LEVEL operating teammates in a plant with a learning mindset culture

Equipment Ownership including installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing industrial processing and packaging machinery, work tools and equipment
Identifying and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and/or electronic issues
Providing technical support and plant leadership for equipment troubleshooting and equipment modification
Own and manage DMS (Daily Management System) activities inside and outside of shift DDS (Daily Direction Setting)
Management of work order, parts requisition, and data entry through understanding and use of Maximo Maintenance Management System
Understanding, initiating, and participating in Root Cause Analysis (Why, Why)
Performing both uptime and down time preventative maintenance
Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance
Skillset and leadership development opportunities with a pay for skills program to achieve higher pay levels by developing and acquiring new skills from an "Equipment Ownership", "Process Ownership" and "Leadership" standpoint
Assist in training new employees
What you have to offer:
Minimum of a high school education or GED
Proficient in English
