Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist
This position requires an active Public Trust clearance. US Citizenship is required per our government client
Utilizes Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to analyze, interpret, and visualize spatial data. Collaborates with teams to gather and process geographic data, creating maps and models that inform decision-making. Manages database systems, troubleshoots technical issues, and develops customized geospatial solutions to address specific project requirements. Ensures accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of geospatial information for effective planning and resource management.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist: Pay commensurate with experience.
This job is temporary and expected to last 6 weeks
The position is estimated to end September 2024; however, this at-will position could end before or after the estimated time period.
Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist Responsibilities Include:
Develop maps, charts, and reports to effectively present findings to stakeholders.
Assist in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of GIS applications (e.g., Web-maps, Dashboards, StoryMaps).
Support data analysis and visualization by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting spatial data.
Conduct spatial analysis and modeling to facilitate decision-making processes.
Create talking points, tables, figures, maps, data visualizations, and slides for presentations and publications.
Assist in coordinating responses to information requests and developing presentations
Diagnose and troubleshoot problems within applications.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
Bachelor's Degree in Geographic Information Systems, Environmental Science Required
Minimum of three (3) years of experience performing GIS-related tasks & CADD. Required
Two (2) to five (5) years of experience supporting Federal clients, particularly DoD, is preferred.
Familiarity with ESRI software products such as ArcGIS Map, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Portal, and ArcGIS Online.
Understanding of vector and raster GIS data types. Required
Capability to create and modify geographic data from various sources. Required
Ability to learn new technologies quickly, work independently, and deliver results within deadlines.
Strong command of the English language for presenting analytical results.
Excellent collaboration, organizational, and attention to detail skills.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and multidisciplinary team.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
