Position Overview
The Technical Support Manager position at the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity leads the technical assistance efforts to help DCEO grantees remain in compliance with grant terms. The ideal candidate is a self-driven employee who will proactively identify potential issues with grantees and develop solutions. Job Responsibilities- Serves as a point of contact to provide end to end grant technical assistance to internal grant management staff and grantees to assist with Grant Accountability & Transparency Act Cognizant Agency responsibilities, grant application requirements, ongoing compliance with state and federal grant requirements and grant management system support.
- Organizes the review, evaluation and setup of grant program infrastructure to release Notice of Funding Opportunities, application intake, merit-based review, Uniform Grant Agreement creation and post award requirements.
- Confers with Deputy Directors, grant management staff and external partners to develop and manage grant technical assistance material for distribution to the public.
- Plans, in consultation with agency management and grant managers, to create and manage internal templates to assist grant management staff to manage program requirements and track program outcomes.
- Provide training for grant managers and grantees on grant management, including grant requirements, best practices and grant systems.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
