Position Title: Community Resource Specialist

Job Summary: Be the first point of contact for visitors and callers, inform and guide visitors to the appropriate Salvation Army resource or services. Provide Community support along with distribution of Food to local residents. Ensure regular pickups from local community partners are managed and complete to stock the Pantry as needed. Maintain building cleanliness and overall presence to visitors and guests.

Reports To: Social Services Director

Qualifications:
Candidates must have a passion for fulfilling the mission of The Salvation Army and must be articulate in presenting the same to others.
Candidates must successfully pass the pre-employment background inquiry and annual motor vehicle check with a valid driver's license.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Significant experience will be considered in lieu of.
Skills:
Ability to efficiently and effectively manage projects and tasks successfully.
Team player, self-starter, and perform well with minimal supervision.
Must have an interest and ability to work with people of diverse racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds in a sensitive and culturally appropriate manner.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience or capacity to demonstrate positive interpersonal skills and work as a cooperative team member.
Proficiency in computer software applications, including demonstrated experience in using email, MS Office applications, Internet and Social Media platforms.
Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary. Especially in emergent situations.

Essential Responsibilities:
Provide information on services available to the community to those in need.
Assist clients with accessing Food Pantry and Social Services program resources.
Maintain client confidentiality.
Assist with unloading product, stocking shelves, and maintaining organization and cleanliness of area. Must keep an "as needed" inventory.
Operate pallet jacks (manual & electric), and cart.
Drive or ride along to pick up and deliver merchandise from various community partners. Maintain positive relations with each partner.
Regularly clean vehicles and keep loading area clean.
Assist with janitorial duties to ensure cleanliness in all areas of the Corps, Pantry and Social Services Department.
Maintain positive work atmosphere through appropriate conflict management, courteous demeanor, and professional and appropriate communication practices.
Maintain compliance in The Salvation Army's "Safe from Harm" Certification.
Perform other duties as assigned as related to the role.
Local travel will be required.
Position Ranking:
Regular Part Time, Non-Exempt. 25 hours per week.

Physical Demands/ Work Environment:
This Position is required to do community business and office work. To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the individual is regularly required to talk and listen, stand, walk, sit and use hands. Individual must be able to regularly lift up to 30 pounds and occassionally lift up to 50 pounds. The use of Office and Computer Equipment is necessary. Vision abilities will require close vision. Work may be performed indoors and occasionally require outdoors to attend meetings. There is low to moderate noise level for this position.
