Position Overview

 

The Senior Application Specialist (Workday Finance) is a senior level position and serves as an IT subject matter expert across the Finance business domain. They are accountable for ensuring the day-to-day operations of the systems under their charge and for supporting and implementing change and configuration management, including testing and defect management relating to new product implementations, development releases, upgrades, patches, and other system maintenance as required. Application Specialists will work closely with Business resources and stakeholders, internal Technology teams, and various vendors and third-party consultants and implementers. They must understand their applications interdependencies with other applications and infrastructure both internally and outside the corporate network. This Role will support Finance Organizations needs across Workday Finance areas General Accounting, Business Assets, Expenses and Suppliers. This role provides technical expertise related to the Workday Financial Management system, creating reports, integrations and other technical deliverables.

 

What Youll Do

  • Handling of day-to-day workflow (monitoring ticket system, e-mail, daily tasks, ongoing training). Level 2 support and troubleshooting of complex issues

  • Support/Lead project activities including data mapping, completion of complex translation tables, reviewing conversion balancing and reconciliation reports, implementation of a new application, system functionality or integration

  • Supporting line of business process improvement and efficiency initiatives. System tuning and optimization, and supporting change management and product/project implementation

  • Provide leadership, mentoring and training and develop best practice process and procedures. May include management of a team or other Application Specialists

  • Technical Application(s) Ownership including evaluating new releases/functionality and monitoring application road maps and support bulletins
