Overview

WXRT, Chicago’s Finest Rock, is looking for motivated individuals for a part-time opportunity as Programming Strategist. The job of a Programming Strategist is to assist the WXRT multimedia operation in all aspects of broadcast and promotion in the Chicagoland area and beyond. We’re looking for candidates who are digitally savvy, can multi-task in a fast paced work environment, and can demonstrate a passion for music radio and connecting with its audience.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

Programming Strategists aid in all aspects of WXRT programming operations, including website and social media. The Programming Strategist works at the direction of the Program Director to orchestrate promotional events, manage client relationships and ideate new campaigns to heighten brand awareness and audience interaction. Successful candidates will be expected to have a skill for working under pressure with attention to detail in a deadline environment. Successful candidates will be required to understand the WXRT brand and all aspects of the music product that we deliver.

+ Successful candidates must have a passion for music radio and must be interested in creating compelling content for listeners

+ Must have excellent communication skills and phone skills

+ Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines

+ Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects

+ Excellent writing skills and professional demeanor

Required & Preferred

+ Bachelor’s Degree required; communications/marketing preferred.
