What the day will look like

As a People Matters Sr. Consultant, there is tremendous exposure to a range of diverse areas within the HR lifecycle. Some of these areas include:

Performance Management: Provides advice and counsel on performance management issues. Partners with the colleague, manager and other business leaders to address performance gaps and facilitates discussions/ process to assess appropriate action. Provides coaching to managers on all aspects of performance including delivering feedback effectively and improving performance.

Workforce Relations: Conducts investigations independently and brings to closure following appropriate protocol and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Policy/ Procedure/ Employment Practices and Laws: Responds to complex questions about HR policy/process. Supports managers in interpreting and applying HR policies to high risk situations.

Rewards: Advise managers on base pay, bonus and recognition programs for individuals and teams. Assists managers in using rewards programs to motivate and recognize teams for their contribution.

How this opportunity is different

This is a North America focused position, covering both the US and Canada. You will be a Sr. Consultant to internal, Aon colleagues and managers. Each day will bring something unique. This role requires the capability to operate independently to organize priorities and resolve issues. Interact with HR Business Partners, General Counsel, Compliance and other interdependent functions to determine appropriate course of action and bring queries and issues to closure.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

+ 5 years of HR experience in employee relations in roles such as business partner, employee relations specialist, or generalist.

+ Prior experience in conducting workplace investigations.

+ Experience in establishing and managing relationships with senior leadership.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of industry experience.

Pay Transparency LawsThe salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $86,000-$100,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
