We are seeking a Sr. Cost Accountant to join our team in MONTGOMERY, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for managing inventory cycle counts, calculating overhead and labor costs, developing standard costs, and creating yield variance reports. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates with experience in cost accounting, cost analysis, SAP, and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities:

- Manage inventory cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory records.

- Calculate overhead and labor costs to maintain financial accuracy.

- Develop standard costs for products to aid in pricing and profitability analysis.

- Create yield variance reports to evaluate production efficiency.

- Use SAP to streamline accounting processes and improve data accuracy.

- Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize and analyze financial data.

- Work closely with the finance team to align cost accounting processes with overall financial strategy.

- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management review.

- Identify opportunities for cost reductions and efficiency improvements.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.

Requirements – Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Cost Accounting

- Proficiency in Cost Analysis is required

- Knowledge and experience with SAP is essential

- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred

- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is desirable

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

- Excellent communication and presentation skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Must adhere to ethical standards

- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis

- Familiarity with accounting software and administrative systems.
