The Financial Analytics Professional 2 manages data to support and influence decisions on day-to-day operations, strategic planning and specific business performance issues. The Financial Analytics Professional 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

The HQRI Finance team supports Humana’s Healthcare Quality Reporting and Improvement business area, part of the Medicare and Medicaid business. With over 9 million medical members and $67B in ‘20 revenue, Medicare and Medicaid are Humana’s largest business segments, comprising over 80% of the company’s total revenue and the majority of its earnings. The Finance team develops revenue and risk score projections for bids and budgets, evaluates changes in Medicare and Medicaid regulations and payment models, monitors and reports on risk adjustment data submissions, and supports HQRI operations.

This role will be responsible for producing, updating, and enhancing financial models as well as building relationships with our upstream and downstream business partners. Good technical skills and problem-solving skills will be needed in addition to an eagerness to learn.

+ Works with other associates in Medicare Risk Adjustment, IT, and Internal Audit

+ Distills complex financial and non-financial data into concise presentable information that will drive managerial decision making

+ Extracts raw data from multiple databases and efficiently summarizes the data

+ Creates and maintains process documentation

+ Daily use of SQL

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s Degree

+ 2+ years of experience in finance/accounting or data analytics

+ 1+ years of SQL programming experience

+ Experience in compiling, modeling, interpreting and analyzing data in order to identify, explain, influence variances and trends

+ Ability to work independently and collaborate with teammates

+ Experience in managing data to support and influence decisions on day-to-day operations, strategic planning and specific business performance issues

+ Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

+ Financial or actuarial background

+ Medicare Risk Adjustment Experience

+ Medicare Advantage or Healthcare Industry Experience

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

+ Experience building PowerBI dashboards

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$65,000 – $89,500 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
