Job Title: Payroll Specialist

Job description:

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes

- Maintains payroll information by collecting, auditing and submitting import data to vendor and reviewing results for all Companies

- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely

- Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information

- Reviewing automated system outputs such as registers and standard reports, determining and correct out of balancing conditions

- Perform cyclical payroll activities

- Analyze, adjust and resolve vacation or paid time off entries, overtime and overpayment discrepancies

- Assist with US and Canada payroll activities and vendors

- Prepare and review reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions and other wages

- Maintain employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential

Required Skills:

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field or equivalent with at least 3 years of experience in benefits and retirement plan administration

- Experience working in a shared services environment or having held a cross-functional role in a professional services organization

- Experience handling routine to complex payroll inquiries and demonstrating a strong degree of judgement and professional approach

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively balance competing priorities

- Proven ability to form an analysis and drive recommendations through to completion

- Ability to build rapport with both internal and vendor stakeholders

- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel (pivot table, v-lookups, formulas, etc.)
